Hanauma Bay Snorkelling - Comic Strip

Hanauma Bay Strip

Pictures from our snorkelling adventure in Hanauma Bay in Hawaii I threw together while experimenting with ComicLife, a neat Mac application that makes putting together little strips such a breeze. Disclaimer - Pardon my sense of humor, just enjoy the pics.

Here's an interesting fact - the bay was formed as a result of volcanic activity about 10,000 years ago. After the explosion, the crater opened up to the sea, forming the bay. Due to the rich volcanic core, corals grew over the centuries and a rare marine ecosystem flourished.

The pictures hardly do justice to the beauty and the number of stunning fishes we saw, partly since I had enough trouble swimming through the corals while holding the camera still enough. As you can tell, the better pictures were taken by Monami, who ventured into the deep end (she's a great swimmer).
